We support a 5,900+ product OpenCart catalogue and add new items every month from the client’s Excel sheet — with photos, filters and SEO.
The task
The store regularly gets new products from suppliers. The owner needs every batch from his Excel sheet to appear on the site fully filled in — attributes, filters, photos and SEO — without risking the live catalogue.
Before

- beforeSupplier photos came in different sizes and backgrounds, so cards looked uneven.
- beforeNew products easily got lost: no filter values, no SEO URLs, no category links.
What we did
We take the client’s Excel sheet with a batch of products (for example, 21 items) and check codes and EANs against what is already in the database.
We fill in attributes — brand, country, volume, aroma — and OCFilter values so the product shows up in filters.
We write SEO URLs and meta titles for every card.
We bring photos to one standard: 1000×1000, white background, product at about 70% of the height.
We link products to categories and set customer-group discounts.
We prepare the SQL and run it on a copy of the database first, together with rollback scripts.
Once checked, we apply the batch to the live site and spot-check the cards.
